Second workshop on energy efficiency in the refrigeration and air-conditioning sector held

The second workshop in the series brought together representatives of municipalities, state institutions, inspectorates, the pharmaceutical and food industries and chambers of commerce.

As part of the public awareness campaign on energy efficiency in the refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) sector in North Macedonia, the second in the series of workshops on energy efficiency of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and the reduction of their environmental impact was held at the Aleksandar Palace Hotel in Skopje.

The workshop set out to acquaint the business sector with the efficient management of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, through the correct application of the legislation in this field and the introduction of energy-efficient technologies that reduce harm to the environment.

Who opened the workshop

The workshop was opened by the Director of the Environment Administration at the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Mr Igor Nikoski. Introductory addresses were given by a representative of the Chemicals and Industrial Accidents Department at the Ministry and by representatives of the National Ozone Unit.

Who took part

Participants included representatives of municipalities, state institutions, inspectorates, pharmaceutical companies, the food industry, chambers of commerce and other institutions.

Within which framework

Project activities related to RAC systems began in January 2026, with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning through the National Ozone Unit. Among them are the activities of the Campaign, carried out by the Resources Environmental Center (REC) — North Macedonia. Financial support is provided through the Multilateral Fund (MLF), and the implementing agency is UNIDO.
